Monday March 14 Mondays so far have consistently been my worst day of training, I start feeling so anxious about the week ahead. Today that same feeling set in when Kelly told me that my goal for week 4 was going to be getting myself through 4000 kicks by Friday (that’s 800 per day). “You’ve got to be kidding me…” The first couple hundred were tougher than the rest. Similar to running, the first 10 minutes were the hardest – the toughest part is getting my breathing steady but once I’ve got that down it’s smooth sailing. Then it becomes maintaining the pace, fighting my fatiguing muscles and keep the kicks going strong. 3200 kicks to go…

After tonight’s series of kicks my legs were very exhausted and already feeling tender in a few short hours after class. The plus is that my round kick has never felt so solid and is only getting better, I’m hoping in the next couple days my switch kick will get it together too. I’m seeing small improvements every day and I’m feeling proud of myself for how far I’ve already come. 2400 kicks to go…
