Monday Feb 28 Stamina Mondays always leave me feeling wiped and especially lately. I’ve been partnered with more of the advanced students/trainers since taking on this challenge, and it’s amazing how hard some of you strike and how much effort is required of me to hold the pads. I find myself feeling like a bit of rag doll and where did all these bruises come from?… Following the Stamina Monday class I participated in my first ever Level 2 class. It was different than I had expected, drills, although physical, were mostly technique based, maybe partially because I had little idea what I was doing so my performance was likely not up to par. It wasn’t a snap, hard work was involved and a lot more thinking than level 1, but it was fun. I’m excited to try it again.
Tuesday Mar 1 I partnered with Kelly today and he made me work hard. When I wasn’t with him I was with Kara, his equally tough trainer. I was striker for all rounds of the class which left me little rest time and feeling exhausted. To end the class, Kara had me do 3 sets of (let’s call them) “backwards sit ups” which I found quite challenging. What a day! The first couple classes this week have been tough, but I’m hoping to get a handle on these workouts before the week’s over… only 3 more to go!
